!@#$%^&*
I have taken considerable time redesigning our family web page. I write the code and don't use an editor. This time I thought I would use the Yahoo Site Builder software. It has some nice features.
I thought it would be good to look at the page as it was made instead of always having to preview each change in the browser. So I made a dynamite homepage only to find that I could not load it up to a freebie site on Geocities but would have to purchase a "premium" site. This was not to happen. So I built another page from scratch. The content is good but the layout is not quite "artsey" enough for me. Next I have to redo the tyoungartist.com. I will use the Yahoo Site Builder for that.
I am considering putting some art work on Etsey and Cafepress. I think some of my stuff will look good on t-shirts and coffee mugs.

CHALK
New work. This is a mixed media piece. It all started when I was trying to use one of my mono prints that I had trashed. Never do I throw away the failures, they become collages or substrate for other work. the colors of the southwest blow my mind. Mix the colors with Native American folklore and you've a lethal combination for the senses.
I'm still perfecting direct voice to blog via cell. I know it will work , I've just got to get the bugs out.
testing 1, 2, 3 4...
This is a test of voice to written blog. I will call my copy into my computer and then transcribe the e-mail message to the blog.

juat another day in paradise...
Back to the sketch book again. It seems that my greatist joy in creating art is between the covers of these books. It is here that the ideas come to me, it is here that the color scheme becomes reality. It is here the a picture can be mace in a few minutes. A complete work can be created in a few minutes. Oh, but it's not a detailed creation or rendering. But it does have the essence of the idea....
I've been working with different mediums in the books also. Such things as grease pencils and oil pastels with watercolor and pastels and colored pencils with my old standby--the ballpoint pen. For some reason, after I have done my sketch I no longer have the desire to create a large piece based on the small sketch. I have been trying to become more non-representational as well. Boy do I love reality or at unreality with recognizable images.

It has been an interesting week though other than painting. Our nephew was with us from the Midwest. He is an organist with an affinity for pipe organs. While here he was able to play several of the city's oldest. One of the had parts from the mid eighteenth century. A good time was had by all.
